This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) is in addition to the standard Terms and Conditions for connectivity to our Public WiFi network. It is important that you or anyone else using your account complies with this Policy. Any breach of this policy may result in the suspension and/or termination of your account without warning.
An AUP is necessary to ensure that there is a standard set of general behaviours and rules in place for the protection of you, other users and other system resources required to deliver a quality and legal service.
So that we can offer all users of our WiFi system a reliable and quality service, we have in place a Fair Usage Policy.
There is a 5GB monthly data allowance applied to all users connecting to the WiFi service. This is a free to use service delivered on a best efforts basis. If you use more than 5GB in any month, we may give you a written notification (by email or otherwise) requesting that you reduce your usage.
Typical applications that consume large amounts of data are on-line streaming services. In extreme circumstances, if the levels of activity don’t decrease, we may reduce the quality of your Service for the rest of that month or permanently, suspend or terminate your Service.
By accepting our Terms and Conditions, you assume total responsibility for all content and materials accessed, view, transmitted, distributed or shared while connected to our WiFi Service.
The following activities are prohibited:
You must not use the service for sending volume unsolicited email messages also known as SPAM or launch denial of service attacks, mail bombing, packet flooding, deliberate attempts to overload the network or any attached device, broadcast attacks, forging of TCP-IP packet header or any part of the header information, unauthorised monitoring of data and/or traffic on any network or system without the express authorisation of the owner of the system or network.
You are responsible for the security, configuration and virus protection of your own equipment. Ensure that you have a personal firewall installed on your device and that your Anti-Virus software is up to date. We strongly recommend using secure email services (https) when sending or receiving mail in a public WiFi hotspot. Ensure that your device is password protected. Do not leave you device unattended in a public place. You are responsible for ensuring that your security information remains confidential, so that the network cannot be used by any unauthorised person.
